Indian Family is the best support system.

Shradha is a malnourished baby she was very sick when she was six months and was under observation till the age of three. She is three and half years now but has no reading writing skills.

She makes two liner rhyming poems on her own but in Marathi. ( may be that’s why she as named Ragini in the orphanage) (Ragini means one who has knowledge of music) She understands some English words now…. She grasps words very fast…

I feel so privileged when I am wanted, she goes around the house calling mummy, mummy and I want mummy next to me. Mummy will give me bath etc…. it is a completely different feeling….

When Shradha was brought home I was in such a mess as I didn’t know what I will do with her. Thanks to Ruchita my sister in law who took her to Mumbai so that she could be comfortable with the other kids in the house. She discovered many of her habits for me. Thank GOD I am in India where the family culture is so strong and the best support system. I could then make arrangements for Shradha in the house, we brought a small cupboard for her things to be kept. After a week I brought Shradha to Pune, and my mom came to stay with me so that she can give me the motherly and doctoral tips. (my mom is a gynecologist and spend 18 years in a residential maternity home)

Those who know Jimmy he is supporting me as much as he can. He takes her out in the evening for a walk etc. I am lucky to have him in my life. He drops her to the baby sitting and picks her up too. They plays hide and seek in the house.

T
his is the time when I needed the most support and understanding from people around me but I learnt that the only people who will be next to you are your immediate family.
